I really enjoy reading this series about the Amish. I've come to feel as if I know the characters! Wish I could take knitting lessons there!
I love all of Karen Anna Vogel's Amish series!
Another wonderful book by Karen Anna Vogel. A real insight between the AMish & English living and working together. Conflicts arise & how they deal with them is what makes the book. Well worth reading.
My mother past within the last four months, this book made me take that look at myself that we all need to do what a great book!
God our Father is reaching down to anyone with ears to hear. This book was one I couldn't put down. This is not just a romance novel about the Amish. This book will challenge anyone to open their hearts and pray for Gods will. Pray, listen (not speak) and wait. If we truly trust that when we call out to Jesus and wait.... Our answer will be there. God is faithful. I do really enjoy Karen Anna Vogels books. She takes you into the story.
I just loved this novel.....I live in a busy world...this novel gave me a chance to read and think about just how busy non-Amish life really is....multitasking, multitasking, and more multitasking....I realized that I rush the microwave...man, I have to slow down....gr8 read...Will be looking for more of these types of novels....
Katie has a year that would make anyone wonder what was going on. The man she is engaged to takes off and leaves the Amish community and she breaks the engagement. She's fearful of a repeat situation and refuses to be courted by others. Then she meets an Englisher, the brother of a neighbor, and falls head over heels for him. Knowing it can't possibly be, she lets everyone convince her to court an Amish widower who has a young son. She enjoys spending time with him, but feels no attraction and cannot gobble him an answer when he asks her to marry. Finally, she says no. The Bishop gets involved which causes more problems, so she decides to leave Pennsylvania and take a teaching position in New York. There she meets another widower and becomes attracted to him, but finally decides if she can't marry the one she wants, she will never marry. Meanwhile, her Englisher has become Amish and after he has been baptised, goes to NY and asks her to marry him. Of course, she says yes and they go back to Pennsylvania.
This story has a lot of twists and turns and was a very good read. Definitely recommend it.
